One of the greatest things about Walt Disney World is staying on property. To be able to get out of bed, leave your room, and go to one of Disney’s Themes parks, without driving down I-4 or International Drive is a wonderful thing. For those of you who are looking to go to Disney World and are thinking it will be cheaper to stay off property, it may be, but remember to get to any of the parks you will need to drive to Disney property, which in the morning around the Orlando area is not an easy thing to do. But Staying “In Disney” isn’t just about the ride. No, there are other things about staying “In Disney” that can make Magical Experiences. So, I offer for you the Unknown Magic of staying “In Disney”.

When you stay “In Disney”, you get to stay at one of the Disney Resorts. There are 17 wonderful Resort Hotels, as well as a Campground with campsites and cabins. Each one of the Resorts is very different from the next and they offer different size and styles of rooms to go along with any budget. Each one is secure in a gated Resort and you are close enough to the Disney Theme parks that you could be in any of them in less than 15 minutes and you don’t even realize it most of the time.

Not only are the Resorts unbelievable, the Perks you get for staying “In Disney” are Magical too. The Perks start before you even get to Walt Disney World. Disney offers what they call their Magical Express. This is Free transportation from the Orlando International Airport to your Disney Resort. All you have to do to take advantage of this service is to tell them you want it when you make your reservations. They will be waiting for you when you get off your plane and will also get your luggage for you, so you don’t have to wait at baggage claim. (They will have your bags in your room within three hours of your plane arriving in Florida.) Then they will take you right to your Resort’s Lobby so that you can check-in. And when you check-out, they will deliver you and your luggage back to the airport for your trip home. Another great Perk, is the Walt Disney World Transportation. I’ve written about the Monorail, Buses and Boats many times, but it bears saying again, they are all wonderful. All of these modes of transportation are also free and Unknown Magics in their own ways.

Staying “In Disney” you also get other opportunities that you don’t get if you stay off property. Things like the Extra Magic Hours. Every evening and every morning one park is open late and another open early for Disney Resort Guests. This is really nice as you can get in the park an hour before the Public, and stay three hours later at night, than people not staying on property. Another Perk you can only get staying “In Disney” is the opportunity for the Disney Dining Plan. The Disney Dinning Plan is great. It helps save you money on meals and allows you to eat at restaurants you probably wouldn’t get a chance to visit.

There are also little Perks that are Unknown Magics that some people that have stayed in Disney before don’t know about. When you stay on Disney Property, you can have anything you buy in any of the parks sent back to your Resort, so you don’t have to carry it around the park with you are get a locker to put it in. This is a wonderful Perk. It means you can shop at anytime during the day and not have to worry about your package. This means you don’t have to be in the crowds at the end of the day, you can shop whenever you want, like when you first get to the Park, and no one else is in any of the stores.

Another Magical Experience making Perk is the In-room Character Call. You can get a wake-up call anywhere, but only in a Disney Resort can you get a Wake-up Call from Mickey Mouse! Disney also offers special occasion phone calls. You can get a Character call for birthdays, romantic celebrations, or any other special event. There is a limit of one occasion per call. To set this up, just mention that you are celebrating a special occasion when you are setting your reservation, when you arrive or when using Online Check-In. During your stay, you’ll receive a Disney Character voicemail on your in-room phone. You can’t get a Magical Experience like this unless you are staying “In Disney”.

So, now you know, there are many reasons to stay in a Disney Resort, from the themes to the Perks that can create Magical Experiences. So when you go, stay “In Disney” and enjoy your trip that much more.
