Mom and Dad at Disney in ’07

People get sentimental this time of year and I guess I am no different. These are just some thoughts that have entered my head that I needed to write down. So, please excuse my ramblings as another year has come and gone. As usual there were a lot of changes. My parents both had health scares and are doing better. They just left yesterday for their home in West Virginia after visiting for Christmas. My Son is constantly surprising us with new and different things that are part of him growing into the fine young man he is becoming. Our neighborhood is changing, our circle of friends has grown and of course I started this writing project, which I do every day.

I can’t believe that it has been seven months since I started this website. I thank all of you that are reading now, as well as those who have read in the past and will read in the future. I enjoy writing about Disney World, because I love the place. I want to share my love of it with you and maybe inform, enlighten and amuse you. I don’t claim to be an expert in anything about Walt Disney World, except how to relax and enjoy the entire Walt Disney World Resort by seeing the little things; the details and the touches that the Imagineers add so that everything is Magical.

The Magic of Walt Disney World cannot be found by rushing from attraction to attraction or running to be the first person to break from the pack at a Rope Drop. No, the Magic at Walt Disney World comes not from being a Disney Commando, but in strolling the Parks, enjoying the scenery and catching that smile on your loved one’s face as they experience something that they have never imagined. This is what I have hoped to bring you over the last seven months of writing. I plan on continuing to write about my experiences and the things and places that I have found or know about that maybe others haven’t had the pleasure of seeing, I hope you continue to follow me as I do.

With tomorrow being our last Friday Foto of the year and Saturday’s Matinee the first of a New Year, I will be sharing some photos and a video of UMWDW’s favorite Unknown Magics from the past year. Please come by to take a look.

I also wanted to take the chance to thank some people that have helped me to keep writing over the past seven months. These websites are all run by friends of mine and are great sites for Disney Fans. You can follow them all on Twitter also. If you are on twitter also follow @disneynine, who doesn’t have a website, but is a huge Disney Fan too.

Of course, the biggest Thanks go to my wife. She was very supportive when I first started the site and has been my biggest champion when telling others about it. She is also my proof-reader and a very patient and understanding person (as any of you that have a website knows this takes quite a bit of time each day). Luckily she is a Disney Fan also, so Heather, Thank you, I Love You and what do you think about ‘Ohana for dinner? (I’m ready when you are!)

To everyone else I say Happy New Year, thank you for reading and keep on coming back.
