On Feb. 1, 2003 over northeastern Texas, the Columbia spacecraft exploded. It was the second time a Shuttle disaster had been experienced by our space program. Two years and 5 months later, on July 26, 2005, at 10:39:00 a.m. EDT, The Space Shuttle Discovery lifted off. Known as the Return to Flight, this was a very big step for the Shuttle Program. On that Tuesday morning, my family and I were in Walt Disney World. After trying to drive out to Cape Kennedy to watch the launch and getting stuck in miles of backed-up traffic, we decided to head back to Disney. We decided to head to a park, specifically, Animal Kingdom. As we walked into the park, there were people standing on the bridge between the Oasis and Discovery Island; a lot of people. When we figured out what was going on, I grabbed the video camera and filmed today’s Saturday Matinee. I dedicate it to the memory of those brave astronauts on the Shuttle Columbia.
